Wednesday, in purple

Yesterday, whilst watching Jeeves and Wooster on DVD, I finished my Yoke Vest. Finally, I here you cry. Yes, Finally! It will need to wait for two weeks to be blocked. I won't have a spin cycle until I go house sit the weekend after next. I hope some of the rolling will be helped. I don’t mind a bit, because I think it has character, but I didn't want to knit a roll neck.

I have two balls of the polar left and with it I'm making a hat (you can see it on the needles there) and either a bag or a pair of mittens.

Glamour is my new pattern book from the Erika Knight's Collectables collection. Which, judging from the look of Classic, are certainly addictive. I have two patterns on my to knit list -which, admittedly, never gets knit - the Chequered Cloche and the Vintage Handbag.

There is also a knitting in media reference. There was a murder with a knitting needle on Agatha Raisin today. Which you can listen to here for a week or so.

Pornish

This is recycled porn. Mohair. I’m at home right now doing some babysitting. So I nave no camera or wool near by. And thanks to everyone who left comments last week. I really appreciate it.

The Season of Colour

Do you remember the Kureyon I put in this YPF post? It's now a scarf. Edgar from the Fall 2005 Knitty.

I finished it yesterday morning and have worn it, as often as possible, since then. It's a little hard but I don't find it itchy. Although you can practically wash my skin with a brillo pad before I find something scratchy. Providing it's not my eczema. Plus it has a nice spongy feel. You know, when you squeeze it and it seems to bounce back.

Not that I'm in love with Kureyon. I'm mostly indifferent. I can see that it would annoy me if it was anything bigger than a cravat and the colours combinations, although excellent in concept, are too unpredictable (green, what the fuck? How did you get in here?)

Pattern: Edgar (from Knitty
Yarn: Some form of Kureyon
For: Me
Why: It's bloody cold!
Alterations: None.
Opinion: Great. Warm without being too strangling. I hate tight things against my neck.

Seasonal Porn

Today it's autumn. I love autumn. Especially this bit of time between Halloween and bonfire night. Funny masks and fireworks. Toffee apples and treacle toffee. But I didn't manage Halloween this year and I'm not setting off fireworks. And Tom broke up with me yesterday. Still I can't help but feel hopeful. Naively hopeful, perhaps, even blindly hopeful. But still it just feels like there is something in the air. Maybe I'm crazy. Next, of course is Christmas which I do not enjoy. I do enjoy, however, all the trappings of the season. Like snowmen. This snowman is made of Rowan Calmer and Polar. I think that's some of my hair in the Polar.
